Who is affected by the European Accessibility Act (EAA)?

The EAA applies to all businesses offering digital products or services to end users in the EU – regardless of industry or size.From 28 June 2025, a comprehensive obligation to ensure digital accessibility applies to companies with more than 10 employees or over €2 million in annual revenue. There is no transition period, as the law was adopted on 22 July 2021. Further information is available on the European Commission website.

Which content must be accessible?

Accessibility requirements apply in particular to websites, mobile applications, e-commerce platforms, booking and ordering systems as well as PDF documents.Newly introduced products and services are also subject to the obligation. Do I need the Widget?
